Hello crafty people!
It's been a long time since I've posted a tutorial,
but here I am to show you an unexpected supply
that I used for stamping a background.
I was organizing and cleaning out some things
at the studio where I do a lot of my crafting.
I came across quite a bit of Velcro.
The problem was that it was only one side of the Velcro,
I had used the other side for a project, so here I was with
this long strip of one side of Velcro.
I said "Guess I don't need to save this." and went to throw it
into my garbage bag.
My friend, thinking she was being funny, said
"Oh can't you use that for stamping or something?"
Fully knowing that I hate throwing something away
that is perfectly good.
Of course, I said "Great idea" and didn't throw it away.
Here's what I did with it.
I inked up the Velcro with some green ink.
Then I pressed it to a piece of white card stock,
and here's what I got.
I continued that process with the green ink and
a coral ink to make stripes on the entire piece of card stock.
I tried a few different color combinations.
The first one I made is my least favorite.
I think I just pressed harder in some areas than others,
but once I got the hang of it, I really loved the results.
If you pop over to my blog,
you can see what I did with these backgrounds.
Well, 3 of them, I haven't done anything with that
first one yet.
Thanks for stopping by today,
I hope this inspires you to think outside the box
and to use some unexpected supplies in your crafting.
Until next time, have fun crafting!
